Abrasion Resistant Plates – Abrex 400 / 450 / 500

High-strength abrasion-resistant (AR) steel plates, Abrex 400, 450, and 500, are designed to endure severe wear and tear in demanding applications. The service life of components exposed to abrasive conditions is greatly increased by these plates, which are designed for exceptional endurance and offer exceptional hardness, toughness, and impact strength. Abrex plates (originally from Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation, or NSSMC) are made using sophisticated metallurgical methods and are perfect for applications where resistance to wear and deformation is essential, like material handling, mining, building, and recycling.

Available Grades:

Grade Typical Hardness (HBW) Ideal Use-Case Scenario
Abrex 400 ~400 HBW General wear applications, moderate impact resistance
Abrex 450 ~450 HBW Higher wear resistance, better impact strength
Abrex 500 ~500 HBW Extreme wear conditions, minimal deformation

Key Features:

  • Exceptional abrasion and wear resistance

  • High impact toughness for demanding environments

  • Good formability and weldability

  • Longer service life than conventional steels

  • Reduces maintenance costs and downtime
